The V2 Will Fly Again! - October 2005

Officials at the Tripoli Rocketry Association were approached by representatives from the X Prize Cup to conduct several rocket flights during an exposition which will be held in Las Cruces, NM on October 7 - 10, 2005.

X Prize Cup officials specifically asked for a V2 replica to fly to commemorate the upcoming 60th anniversary of the V2 at White Sands Missile Range. The White Sands Missile Range is located approximately 25 miles east of Las Cruces and many residents have worked on the V2 programs and are involved with the range's current activities.

The X Prize itself was presented to Burt Rutan and his team at Scaled Composites of Mojave, CA in October 2004. The X Prize was a $10 million financial incentive for private groups to build a craft to send three persons into space, return them safely, ready the rocket for a second flight, and conduct a second flight within two weeks.

The X Prize Cup is a continuation of the X Prize and fosters continued development of space vehicles.

RockSim File of the V2 - V6 (I'm getting V8)
The design uses a modified "Material.csv" file (Save this file and put in your Program Files > Apogee > Rocksim6 > Data directory), I have added . . .

The RockSim File uses these materials to calculate weight - I comes out to about 125lbs.
