In Memory of
Stephen P. Scott Sr
August 17,1954 – August 18,2018
On Saturday, August 18th, around 2 am, Stephen P. Scott said "so long, and thanks for all the fish".
This gentle giant, dedicated to his family and friends, approached death the same way he approached life: with wisdom, wit, and humor.
Stephen was the author of more than 10 books, including several science fiction novels. His most recent novel, Adamanta III was released on Amazon August 15th, 2018.
Stephen's crowning achievement, A Territorial Christmas Carol, became a popular Christmas tradition at Guthrie's Pollard Theater for more than 30 years. His newest play, An Old Salem Christmas Carol, opens this year in Winston-Salem, NC.
Stephen was also an artist and a musician, and he enjoyed painting, gardening, blogging, model rocketry and model airplanes, as well as a wide variety of music, but most importantly he was an incredibly wonderful and supportive husband, father, and friend.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Kathryn Scott, 11 children, 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. They will all miss his 'dad' jokes, insight, knowledge, and big bear hugs. Everyone was richer for knowing him.
He always knew how to start a conversation and keep it going, but he never knew how to end one.
